Black male achievement crisis: Solution , Parents! We must talk to our sons about education, family, relationship ethics

The solution to improving education & jobs ,reducing violence and optimizing health is very SIMPLE.
We must persistently, consistently encourage in our kids, from childhood-through teenage years to -adulthood

Warning :sermon ahead

TEACH & TALK TO YOUR KIDS, especially your boys
-stop promoting fighting back and teach them to walk away or be a peace maker
-stop encouraging them to be a player , teach them to build relationships
-stop telling them we have enough , teach them to want & work for more
-stop complaining about their homework, & give them more to learn
-if being single mother was hard, encourge your sons to grow up to become supportive father & husbands

There is enough media, music, magazines teaching our sons the opposite all day
Many will not find a better way by chance, we have to teach them
We have become tooooo comfortable with our statistics & limitations, that we dont bother to try to change them.
Just because its the norm, doesn't mean its good nor acceptable
Nor can we continue to blame poverty, politicians,police when we havent stepped up as parents
As African Americans we have overcome tremendous obstacles, this should be one of them
Regardless of your situation or previous life decisions time to put away the pride, & teach your kids NEW VALUES
if we want to rid the statistics on violence, incarceration, Aids & single parent homes etc..
Your kids should learn from your mistakes not repeat them.
